The Beauty of my artwork in "One Of A Kind Frame". Inspires My Soul Every Day.

D. Martin. George and his family used to live in the old city of Jerusalem for generations. George and his family are from Armenia and traveled to Israel many years prior. Their business was refinishing and restoration furniture from churches and temples in the old city of Jerusalem. One day we visited his shop on Via Dolorosa and Jaffa gate, which is on the way to the Wailing Wall. The strong memory I have to this day, is the odor of the candle wax and old wood from all the churches in the old city of Jerusalem. His jobs mostly consisted of chairs and desks that were over 100 years old. Most of them were in perfect condition due to the wax from the candles that were lit in the church. After being lit, the candles emit some wax into the room that eventually covered the wood. Digging into my memory I remember the chairs in George's shop that were made of red, black wood that resemble Rose Wood. I also remember what the chairs and tables were made of, only dowels, some glue, and the heart and soul of the people who made them for the churches. This inspire me today to save this wood. t the location of my warehouse, there is a business that imports marble from Brazil. he marble arrives to the U.S. in the form of a crate, which is made up of very hard wood such as Mahogany, Red Oak and other exotic woods. After unloading the marble, the wood is thrown to the dumpster. This beautiful wood cannot be used because of the nails, bolts and screws. In making my frames I remove all of the metals and sand the wood down to a finished product you see in my One Of A Kind Frame. One of A Kind Frame, The Way Wood Used to be Hand Crafted. D. Martin.
